Welcome to Medigate's Real Time Health Convergence Maturity Assessment.You now have access to an innovative self-assessment in the form of a survey that combines questions about NIST security controls with indicators of operational maturity as set forth in Gartner's Real Time Health System (RTHS).

Why NIST? Because the security controls articulated in the NIST Framework are widely adopted. And, given the recent passing of the HIPAA Safe Harbor Law, the framework has been "re-endorsed" as a path to connected asset security best practices. But NIST alone does not address the more operationally-centric concerns of healthcare technology management staff, nor does it satisfy the interests of business leadership.

Why Gartner's RTHS? Because Gartner's vision of how the benefits of healthcare's digital transformation will be realized is correctly focused on cross-functional staff and system interoperability.However, while the RTHS assumes the security controls stipulated in the NIST framework, it alone does not provide the prescriptive outcomes sought by security professionals.

Therefore, the cross-referenced combination provided in this assessment is smart and relevant, and the benchmarked gap analysis provided as reporting output is meaningful. At best, the detailed reporting provided prioritizes areas of concern and delivers a roadmap. At worse, it delivers insights that enrich the context of security risk assessments by making them more meaningful to a broader audience of healthcare stakeholders.
